The North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un unexpectedly interrupted the “mass games”, the most important propaganda event of the regime held every year in North Korea, because he was dissatisfied with the opening ceremony. The news was given by state television and a tour operator that organizes trips for tourists to North Korea, Young Pioneer Tour, who wrote on Twitter that the games “will remain firm from June 10th until further notice”. The same news was given by Koryo Tours, another tour operator active in North Korea. The North Korean regime has not commented.
Kim’s decision came after the ceremony held in Pyongyang on Monday. Kim criticized the organizers of the games accusing them of having prepared the event with the “wrong spirit” and having kept an “irresponsible approach to work”: nothing more is known for the moment.
