Happy birthday Gmail !
More and more artificial intelligence in Gmail’s mail. On the platform’s 15th birthday, Google announced a couple of news for all its users. The first is that Smart Compose, or the possibility that an algorithm understands the content of the message and automatically creates an answer, now works also in Italian. Previously seen in English on the Pixel series mobile phones, the system not only speaks our language but supports all the major Android smartphones, with the promise to arrive soon on iPhone and iPad. The second change concerns the scheduling of emails. Finally, you can decide to compose a message, insert attachments of any kind and set a sending date and time. In the first instance there will be useful suggestions, for example “in an hour”, “tonight” or “tomorrow” but with the opportunity to freely choose the best time for shipping. That’s all? No, because Gmail already has a dozen noteworthy features that not everyone knows, some hidden and to be activated from the website menu. Here are some examples, from offline mode to conversation cancellation and advanced search.
Did you know that you don’t have to be online to check the Gmail web account? Thanks to the Chrome Gmail Offline app, you can access the profile and reply without an internet connection (even if the reply is not sent until you are back online). The extension is downloaded from the Chrome Web Store.
Gmail allows you to create shortcuts so you can use letters and keys to execute quick commands. For example, you can click on the “C” to compose a new message, “R” to reply and “A” to reply to all. To do this, simply go to Settings and then Activate keyboard shortcuts.
